Vijayawada: Manipal Hospital, Vijayawada, a leading healthcare services provider, has taken a significant leap in medical technology with the launch of the state-of-the-art 4th Gen Da Vinci X Robotic-assisted surgery unit.

The inauguration ceremony was graced by S. Abdul Nazeer, Governor of Andhra Pradesh, in the presence of Dr. Sudarshan Ballal, Chairman of Manipal Health Enterprises and other dignitaries.

The launch of robotic-assisted surgery (RAS) marks a significant advancement in minimally invasive surgical techniques, empowering surgeons with enhanced motion control and superior visual magnification to tackle complex cases. It aims to overcome the limitations of traditional surgical procedures and enhance the capabilities of surgeons performing intricate surgeries.

Embracing a multidisciplinary approach, the robotic-assisted surgeries offerings encompass various specialties such as surgical oncology, surgical gastrointestinal, bariatric, urology, thoracic, general surgery, gynecology and more.

At the inauguration, the Governor said "as we usher in a new era of medical excellence, I am glad to witness the launch of robotics-assisted surgery, a groundbreaking milestone for AP. This state-of-the-art advancement, introduced by Manipal Hospitals, marks a remarkable leap forward in healthcare technology.

He said with robotic precision and innovation at its core, this transformative endeavor promises to revolutionise surgical care, ensuring superior patient outcomes and positioning AP at the forefront of medical progress in India.
